The Legend of the Dead Man’s Hand told by Wild Bill
There have been some well-known poker players during the lengthy history of gambling in general and poker in particular, whose names are still recognized and hold significant value for gamblers worldwide. James Butler Hickok, also known as « Wild Bill » Hickok, is one of those illustrious names; it is in his rs7sports that we still discuss the dead man’s hand.

After Bill had lost against Jack McCall the day before, Jack McCall went into the pub and shot him in the back of the head, killing him instantly. They were playing a game called Five Card Stud. According to legend, Bill was holding two decks of cards: black eights and black aces. Since then, that specific poker hand has been referred to as the « dead man’s hand. »
Even though Will Bill didn’t have two aces and two eights in betway his hands when he passed away, his memory and the story of his poker hand endure.
